I disagree that traditional lectures should be completely replaced by online learning platforms in universities.
First of all, online learning limits opportunities for social interaction. In traditional classrooms, students can naturally communicate with classmates and professors, which helps them develop teamwork skills and build valuable academic networks. Such relationships are difficult to create through a screen.
Second, the overall quality of education may decline if everything becomes online. Some subjects require hands-on practice or immediate feedback, which online platforms cannot fully provide. For example, laboratory experiments are essential for understanding complex concepts and applying them in real situations.
For these reasons, traditional lectures should not be completely replaced by online learning platforms, even though digital tools can play a helpful supplementary role. (122語)
